A Bit About Bob,

You’ll have a hard time finding a more capable and committed realtor than Bob Doten. His creativity, resourcefulness and communication skills provide his clients great advantage whether buying or selling.

Bob pays careful attention to what people are looking for and is skilled at fulfilling their needs. For those who are selling, he is particularly gifted with creating an image that shows a home at its best.

A native of Orinda, California, Bob hails from a respected family of automotive and real estate professionals spanning four generations. His business values were forged working after school, weekends and summers in the family business. Bob recalls those days as a time when “Every customer was a VIP, and the employees who served them were trusted business friends.”

Bob earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the Menlo College School of Business in Atherton CA. From there he launched a 30-year career in sales and marketing with auto company clients including Toyota, Nissan and Honda.

In 2009, Doten retired from corporate life, making Arnold his new home. Working from his cabin, he contracted his services to multiple emerging internet businesses while also immersing himself in the community.

Bob earned a reputation for his work ethic and integrity as president of the Greater Arnold Business Association in 2012 and 2013. He led a fresh team of new volunteers that rejuvenated the organization, resulting in more than a 100% jolt in membership and a new collaborative spirit in the community.

In 2014, Bob became a director for the Calaveras County Economic Development Company, a non-profit focused on helping the county’s small businesses thrive and grow. He also serves on the Calaveras Big Trees Association’s Advisory Council.

Why Arnold? Bob fell in love with the area’s year-round activities and uncongested charm. “The drive time from the Bay Area is far shorter than Tahoe” notes Bob, “and there’s always something fun to do. Arnold is the best vacation value in the Sierra.”
