Arnold, CA…The mysteries surrounding Siri, Apples “intelligent assistant” that enables users to employ voice commands, will be explored when the Sierra Macintosh Users Group (SMUG) moves back to its warm-weather location in Arnold for the Tuesday, April 11 meeting that will begin at 7 p.m. in the assembly room of the Ebbetts Pass Fire District, 1037 Blagen Rd., just off Highway 4.
Brian Thomas, Director of Innovation for the Tuolumne County Superintendent of Schools, will answer the burning questions: “Who is Siri? – Where does she live? – What can she do? – How does she do it?”
SMUG members who have been to a Thomas presentation know he will travel far beyond the basic topic to provide a variety of tips and educational and entertaining information. As always, questions about any Apple products and applications will be welcomed.
SMUG meetings are designed for dues paying members but anyone is welcome to attend to see if they would like to join the group. SMUG was founded in 1995 and is a non-profit organization run completely by volunteers. It meets the second Tuesday of the month, January through November. Annual dues are $20 for an individual or couple payable at the first of the year.
The organization exists to keep Apple users abreast of the latest developments and to address the nagging questions that arise from time to time. Its goal is to take the mystery out of computers and to enable members to take advantage of all the features their Mac products possess.
