Tuolumne County, CA…The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform one-way traffic control on eastbound and westbound State Route 120 (SR-120) at the James E. Roberts Memorial Bridge – following its scheduled re-opening on Monday, April 3, 2017.
The bridge closed Monday, March 27, 2017, so crews could reconstruct bridge joint seals and approach slabs. The bridge needed to be closed so there would be no vibration from vehicles.
One-way traffic control will be in effect 24 hours a day, into November 2017, and motorists should expect 10 minute delays.
This work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment and/ or materials and construction related issues.
This is part of the $20.8 million SR-120/James E. Roberts Memorial Bridge Project, which began in July 2016. It will replace the bridge deck and retrofit the structure to provide an additional 40 years of service.
