Mokelumne Hill, CA…A 70 year old German man was riding his 2014 Harley Davidson northbound on State Route 49, just north of Gold Rush Lane, traveling approximately 30 mph, with his 71 year old passenger seated behind him. He was traveling at an unsafe speed for conditions when he attempted to negotiate a left hand curve in the roadway, and he allowed the motorcycle to travel off of the roadway, onto the east shoulder. The HD collided with the guardrail and both riders were ejected from the motorcycle.

Both parties sustained major injuries and were transported by ambulance to Sutter Amador Hospital for treatment.
