Cecine Bunn Stadden Passed Away At 92

San Andreas, CA…Cecine Bunn Stadden passed away at her daughter’s home in Calaveras county among family on March 16th, 2017. She was 92 years old. Cecine was born Cecine Elizabeth Cole in Springfield, Illinois. In her younger years, she hunted with her brothers, drove an ambulance, attended art school in Colorado. She loved new projects such as learning computers or repairing radios. Sometimes these objects broke after her involvement, but that never stopped her. Cecine was a lifelong artist, specializing in watercolors. In addition, she enjoyed sculpture, China painting, cartooning, pen and ink drawing, and colored pencil botanical illustration. She liked taking road trips, was an avid reader, and a big fan of computer Mahjong. Cecine had a whimsical – and on occasion, tactless – sense of humor. Her long life was attributed to good quality scotch, salmon, lots of candy and raw cashews.

Cecine married Charles Bunn in 1951. They later divorced after decades together, but remain friends until Charles’ death in 2006. Cecine is survived by her daughter Sisene and son-in-law Brian Strehl of San Andreas, and her son Charles Bunn Jr. of Wilmington, N. Carolina. In addition , she had eight grandchildren: Aisha Burnes and granddaughter-in-law Katie Berger of Brooklyn, NY; Ethan Anderson, Ian Anderson, Devin Strehl , all of San Francisco; Alanya Anderson of Calaveras County; Shae Strehl of Reno, Nevada; Ceci Bunn of Albuquerque, N.M. and Bryson Bunn of Wilmington, N. Carolina. Cecine loved flowers, so you can honor her by planting flowers in your yard, supporting local florists and garden centers, or by donating to the SF Botanical Garden in her name. Additionally, she was fascinated by solar planes, so her family plans to buy a panel on the Solar Impulse in her honor. Fly free, Ma, we will miss you!
