San Andreas, CA…The Calaveras County Board of Supervisors shall conduct a public hearing at 9:30 a.m., or shortly thereafter, on Tuesday, the 22nd of August, 2017 at the Board of Supervisors Chambers at the Government Center, 891 Mountain Ranch Road, San Andreas, California. The hearing is being called by the Board of Supervisors for the purpose of soliciting citizen’s views to consider submission of a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application to the State Department of Housing and Community (HCD). The application is for the Special Wildfire Disaster Recovery Program and the total grant request is $2,808,000. The proposed Butte Fire Disaster Recovery Project includes the following activities. They are Tree Removal (up to $1,040,000), Watershed Restoration (up to $650,000), Tree Planting (up to $650,000) and Road Repair (up to $ 260,000), Administration (up to $211,000). Citizen participation is encouraged throughout the grant process, the requirements for which are explained in Section 7080 of the State Community Development Block Grant program regulations.
