Vallecito, CA…CHP has released details in the head on collision that blocked Parrotts Ferry Road yesterday for about an hour. One Murphys man was flown from the Chalcedon grounds on Hwy 4 to Memorial Hospital in Modesto with Major injuries. Three people also involved were sent to Mark Twain Medical Center with minor injuries. Details from CHP are below.

Iturralde was driving a 2007 Mazda northbound on Parrotts Ferry Road, north of Airola Road at approximately 55 mph. PFerreira was driving her 2008 Jeep southbound on Parrotts Ferry Road, north of Airola Road at approximately 35-40 mph. As the vehicles approached each other, Iturralde crossed over the solid yellow lines directly into the path of the 2008 Jeep. Neither party was able to react in time in order to avoid the collision. Consequently, the front end of Mazda collided with the front end of the Jeep.

Alcohol and/or drugs are not considered a factor in this collision.
