Major Injuries to 8 Year Old San Jose Girl in Hwy 4 Head on Collision

Angels Camp, CA…Troung was driving a 2007 Acura MDX westbound on SR-4 west of Stallion Way at approximately 45-50 miles per hour. Cervantes was driving his Toyota Tundra eastbound on SR-4 west of Stallion Way at approximately 45-50 miles per hour. Troung failed to safely negotiate a left hand curve in the roadway. The Acura traveled to the right off the paved portion of the roadway onto the north shoulder. Troung turned the Acura back to the left abruptly, traveled across the roadway and onto the south shoulder. Troung then turned the MDX back to the right abruptly, re-entered the roadway directly in front of the Tundra. The front of the Acura struck the front of the Toyota.

There were minor injuries to several people but they refused treatment. An 8 year old San Jose girl was flown to UC Davis Medical Center wth major injuries.

Drugs and/or alcohol are not a factor in this collision.
