San Andreas, CA…Given the ongoing uncertainty regarding available teaching and support staff due to the teachers strike, and the resulting inability to secure sufficient staffing to operate safe, secure and productive schools, all CUSD schools will be closed on Friday. We are working to determine who will be reporting to their assigned positions and what degree of substitute staff we can secure in order to resume operations on Monday.

We are also hopeful that we can get back to the negotiating table soon in order to continue open dialogue leading to resolution of our contractual situation.

You will receive a communication no later than Sunday afternoon to inform you of the status for schools being in session on Monday.

I apologize for the impact this situation has had students, on families and on all involved. At some point, we will reach a resolution and will collectively move forward in a more positive direction.
