Murphys, CA…The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has completed a project to enhance pedestrian accessibility on State Route 4 (SR-4) in the town of Murphys. The project included the construction of new accessible curb ramps, sidewalks, curbs and gutters and upgraded traffic signals at the intersection of SR-4 and Tom Bell Road/Big Trees Road. The project also connected a walking path and pedestrian bridge over Angels Creek to a sidewalk that leads to the intersection and makes the crossing safer for pedestrians.

This project is a part of a larger $2.2 million project that was awarded to George Reed, Inc.

Caltrans would like to extend our appreciation to motorists and residents for their patience and cooperation during the construction of the Murphys pedestrian accessibility project.
