Modesto, CA…The Save Mart Companies recognizes the challenges of feeding a growing population and is committed to cultivating leaders in the agricultural industry. To help nurture young talent in this field, Save Mart is offering fifteen $1,000 scholarships for the first time.
The National Future Farmers of America Organization will help administer the program. Last year, FFA awarded a total of $2.7 million dollars in scholarships, which were donated by numerous businesses and individuals. The Save Mart Companies Scholarship will be one of 1,800 scholarships available in 2018. FFA’s selection process takes into account a student’s entire background: FFA involvement, work experience, supervised agricultural experience, community service, leadership skills and academics.
Applications are due February 1, 2018. Applicants must reside in the California and Northern Nevada communities our Save Mart stores serve. For more information, please visit: www.FFA.org/scholarships.
After graduating, scholarship recipients are welcome to pursue careers with TSMC. It not only runs more than 200 stores in California and Northern Nevada, but it also operates Mid Valley Dairy and Sunnyside Farms.
