Valley Springs, CA…A Lockeford Woman was traveling westbound on SR-12 east of Southworth Road at approximately 50-55 MPH. Party-1 allowed her vehicle to drift to the left and over corrected back to the right where the vehicle struck a utility pole on the north shoulder of SR-12. The utility pole sheared at the base and a vegetation fire was started as a result. SR-12 was closed at the location, for approximately 1 hour, so that the fire could be extinguished and PG&E could assess the downed power line. Once the power line and fire were no longer deemed a danger to the public SR-12 was reopened to traffic.
