Transient Arrested in Burson Area

Valley Springs, CA…On Monday 3-5-18 deputies responded to a residence in the 4000 block of Highway 12 in Burson for a report that a male subject had attempted to open the front door of the residence and he was refusing to leave the property. The subject was described as wearing jeans, a red jacket, and carrying a grey tarp or blanket. Sheriff’s deputies had previously responded to this area several times the afternoon prior, Sunday 3-4-18, for reports of a subject matching this description lying on the side of the road. It was determined that this subject did not need medical assistance and he refused deputies attempts to assist with services.

This morning residents of the Highway 12 house called to report that the male, who was unknown to them, had attempted to open the front door and refused to leave the property when asked. Deputies arrived in the area and contacted the male who was uncooperative. The male was placed under arrest and booked into the Calaveras County Jail on trespassing charges. He did not have any identification on him and so far is uncooperative in identifying himself. Correctional Officers are working with behavioral health staff to provide services while he is incarcerated. It is believed that he is a transient from out of the area. Identification results from fingerprinting are pending.
