Sonora, CA…From the Sonora Police Dept….On Saturday night, at around 11:00 p.m., Officer Durham was dispatched to a vehicle theft at Lowes. Upon arrival, he contacted the victim, who informed him Leif Husman took her car from the Lowes parking lot without her permission. The victim stated that she was with her boyfriend and his friend Leif Husman when she parked in the Lowes parking lot so she and her boyfriend could walk down to his camp behind Lowes and get a part to help his friend fix his RV. When returning to the parking lot her car was gone.
The vehicle owner advised Officer Durham that Husman may be heading to Chicken Ranch Casino where his RV was parked. A be-on-the-lookout was posted to surrounding agencies. TCSO advised Chicken Ranch security if they saw the stolen vehicle (Red Pontiac Grand AM) to notify them. At approximately 0100 hours, SPD was advised that TCSO deputies were out with the vehicle and had Husman detained. Officer Durham responded to Chicken Ranch Casino and took custody of Husman he was booked for vehicle theft.
