Murphys, CA…Mind Matters is holding its 7th Annual Off the Beaten Path fundraiser on Saturday, April 28th in Murphys Community Park. The money raised will support those individuals and families who are affected by autism spectrum disorder, ADD/ADHD. and/or learning disabilities. The event is open to all ages and includes a 5K walk and a 10K race. The 5K goes out to Ironstone and back. The 10K goes further out Six Mile Road and back. Medallions will be awarded to men and women in each of the four age categories in the 10K run. The walk is a lovely alternative for those who want to walk, stroll, and ride bicycles or tricycles. Families with those in strollers are also encouraged.
Registration is $30 for adults and $15 for children. Children 6 and under are free. Those that pre-register will receive a t-shirt. You may register on-line at mindmattersclinic.org or in person at the Clinic. Call 728-2184 for more information. You may also sign up at the event. Registration and check-in will be from 8-8:45am. A warm-up and welcome will be at 8:45 and the runners will take off at 9am, with the walkers following right after.
April is Autism Awareness Month so we are particularly honoring and supporting those individuals who walk off the beaten path. These individuals often experience challenges that others don’t.
If you can’t make the event, but would like to support Mind Matters, we will gratefully accept donations.
Thank you and hope to see you there!
Trudy Lackey, Executive Director, Mind Matters.
