Brian Eugene Gillick 1959 – 2018

Valley Springs, CA…Brian Eugene Gillick, 59, passed away in his home on April 17, 2018. Born April 4, 1959 in Lodi, CA to Gordon and Bonnie Gillick. He was a father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many. Brian’s family moved to Valley Springs when he was a toddler. His entire schooling was in Calaveras County. He graduated from Calaveras High School in 1977. He worked for Ron’s Exxon Station as a teenager. He got a job at Pacific Gas & Electric Company as a meter reader in 1979. Brian loved that 1 day a month he would go out by boat and read the meters at various islands on the delta. He moved from an outside job to working in the office in the mid 80’s. He held many supervisor positions and was a computer analyst at the end of his 39 years with the company.

He married Theresa in 1982, and began his family adding 3 girls. As a young man with a family raising 3 daughters, he enjoyed kite flying. The family would travel to different kiting events. He enjoyed the annual Thanksgivings in Mexico flying kites and watching his children grow. Brian enjoyed seeing his 3 daughters find love and marry adding 3 son-in-laws and 5 grandchildren to his family. He was very proud to tell people about his grandchildren. During the last decade + of his life, in his free time you could find him tinkering with slot cars or on Sunday’s watching Nascar or drag racing. Everyone that knew him will always remember his infectious laugh.
