Groveland, CA…The Lost Claim Campground on Groveland Ranger District will be closed to the public until July 20 due to a fire that ignited in the area July 12. The fire did not damage the campground’s infrastructure, but it was close enough that the area needs to be cleaned up before it will be ready for guests again, according to Trent Brown, Groveland Ranger District recreation specialist.

“Lost Claim is one of our campgrounds that accepts reservations,” Brown added. “Visitors with reservations should soon hear from American Land and Leisure, the concessionaire, to cancel or reschedule their reservations.”
