November General Election Vote by Mail Ballot Update and Voter Alert of Robocalls and Misleading Mailings for State Propositions

San Andreas, CA…Vote by mail ballots are in the mail and are expected to be delivered by mid-week. If you do not receive your mail ballot by Friday, please contact the County Elections office to have a ballot re-issued to you. Ballots must be returned to the Election’s Office or a polling place by Election Day, November 6, 2018. If postmarked by November 6th, ballots will continue being accepted through November 9, 2018.

The Calaveras County Elections Department is alerting voters about misleading robocalls and mailings throughout the state. The call and mailings are sponsored by a political campaign which states there is an error in the title of Proposition 6 in the voting materials mailed by the County Registrar of Voters; this is an incorrect statement. The California Attorney General prepares the Title and Summary for State Propositions, and the Local Registrar of Voters does not make any alterations to them.

The official and correct Title and Summary for Statewide Proposition 6—as prepared by the Attorney General’s office—can be found in your state voter information guide. There was no error in the Title and Summary, therefore no corrections have been issued by state or local elections officials.
