San Andreas, CA…Deputies newly appointed to the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Dive Team underwent essential SCUBA certification this weekend. The Dive Team is a specialized unit within the Sheriff’s Office that is called out to recover drowning victims, evidence, and anything that would require entry into one of the many lakes, rivers, ponds and other man-made bodies of water in Calaveras County. The team conducts ongoing training even in cold weather months to prepare and be ready for deployments. The Sheriff’s Office would like to remind everyone to remain safe around our local rivers during increased flow due to winter conditions.
