Long Serving Sergeant Mark Kerzich Retires from Sheriff’s Dept

Sonora, CA…From the Tuolumne Sheriff’s Dept…”We say farewell to Sergeant Mark Kerzich, who began his career with the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office in 1996 as a Jail Deputy Sheriff. In 1997, Mark was promoted to Deputy Sheriff. He became a Range Safety Officer and Instructor in 1999, and was promoted to Corporal in 2002. In 2004, Mark joined the SWAT team, and was promoted to Sergeant in 2013. During his time with our agency, Mark has worn many hats ranging from Field Training Officer, Court Security, and the Deputy Sheriff Association President.

Prior to working for the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office, Sergeant Kerzich was a Correctional Officer with Santa Clara County Department of Corrections for 6 years before attending the P.O.S.T. Academy.

Sergeant Kerzich has been in Law Enforcement for an impressive 29 years and has been a cornerstone in our office. His 23 year tenure is a testament to his passion for this profession and his community. We are sorry to see him go, but wish him the very best in his retirement. Congratulations!”
