Mountain Ranch, CAOn April 25th 2019 the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Team served a search warrant for illegal marijuana cultivation at a residence in the 9000 Block of Sheep Ranch Road in Mountain Ranch. During the service of the search warrant an indoor and outdoor marijuana operation was located. Investigators discovered the interior of the residence and a detached garage had been converted into several individual growing rooms.

The clandestine growing operation was indicative of an illicit commercial operation and not in compliance with any medical or recreational cultivation.

A total of 817 marijuana plants as well as other items of evidence were seized. Although no suspects were present during the service of the search warrant, the investigation is continuing.

County Code Enforcement responded for multiple code violations including unpermitted/hazardous electrical work and mold. The residence was determined to be unsafe for occupancy.
