San Andreas, CA…Good morning Calaveras! We have just completed the final PG&E briefing for these events! PG&E resumed restoration efforts at first light. We were again in the field at first light, and confirmed multiple PG&E crews already at work. As it stands right now, we are 97% restored, with about 1,000 PG&E customers still without power. Most of these customers are in the Glencoe, Railroad Flat, West Point, and Rich Gulch areas. PG&E is working toward the goal of complete restoration by midday today.
There is a pocket of about 182 Customers in the Forest Meadows community that are also out of power, and this outage IS NOT PSPS related. PG&E is investigating the source of this outage at this time, but does not have an estimated time of restoration right now.
Community Resource Centers (CRCs) will remain open in West Point and Arnold until we are fully restored. Please continue to leverage these valuable resources until power is restored. In cooperation with our response partners at the City of Angels Camp, we have requested closure of the Angels Camp CRC. We have also requested closure of the Valley Springs CRC.
Here is the best news from the briefing: PG&E is NOT TRACKING ANY PSPS related weather events in the seven day forecast. While this is always subject to the whim of Mother Nature, it appears that we’ll have a break for now!!
Lastly, please remember to enjoy Halloween safely! Children should walk on sidewalks were available, should carry flashlights after dark, and walk (not run) between houses.
Thanks for everyone’s continued support; Happy Halloween!
