Woman Gets Six Years In Prison For Injury DUI Accident

San Andreas, CA…Jessica Lynn Stricler, 32, was sentenced to six years state prison last Monday for driving under the influence and causing bodily injury. On May 12, 2015, Stricler crashed her car into another vehicle on West Murray Creek Road. She injured two people: her passenger and the other driver. Stricler was also injured in the crash. Her blood alcohol test was 0.13% by weight.

Stricler pled guilty to the felony charge and admitted a special allegation of personally inflicting great bodily injury. This special allegation makes the crime a “strike” and adds three years prison. One Victim made a statement to the Court at sentencing. Judge Timothy Healy then imposed the six year sentence.

DDA Milton Matchak, who prosecuted the case, comments as follows: “Driving under the influence is dangerous and can result in serious consequences to the driver and unsage roadways for all. The Calaveas Count District Attorney’s Office is dedicated to aggessively prosecuting driving under the influence cases. The goal is to make the roadways safer for everybody in Calaveas County.”
