Copperopolis Elementary Closed Starting Tomorrow After Student Tests Positive for Covid-19

Copperopolis, CA…From MTUSD…”Dear Families, Teachers, and Staff, On Tuesday, March 10th after school dismissal, Calaveras Public Health confirmed that two members of a family in Copperopolis tested positive for novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Their exposure to COVID-19 occurred outside of Calaveras County. One of those cases is currently enrolled at Copperopolis Elementary School. The public health and safety is paramount to Copperopolis Elementary and our community. Due to this information, Copperopolis Elementary School will be closed starting Wednesday, March 11, 2020. This order is because there is a positive lab result for COVID-19 in Calaveras County with exposure in the school. Copperopolis Elementary School is immediately closed until further notice and all students, teachers, and staff should stay home.

Copperopolis Elementary School will be closed starting March 11, 2020 until notified by the school district.

All school events and events held at the school are also canceled.

Parents and caretakers are asked to make arrangements until further notice and to stay tuned to community updates.

Remember to:

If you cannot wash your hands, use alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60-95% alcohol.Clean and disinfect surfaces or objects. Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces, especially when someone is ill. Cover coughs and sneezes. Use a tissue to cover coughs and sneezes, then dispose of the tissue. When a tissue is not available, cough, or sneeze into your elbow (or inside your shirt).Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth. Germs spread this way.
