Avery, CA…Avery Middle School student, Preston Porrazzo, won this year’s “Tell Us Your True Teen Story” contest. This Scholastic Action contest takes entries from all over the U.S. Over 100 entries were submitted. Students submit a short essay about a passion they have, a struggle they’ve faced or something that makes them special.

As the winner, Preston will receive a $100 American Express gift card, a copy of Jason Reynold’s new book Look Both Ways for his entire class, and a class subscription to Scholastic Action for the 2020-21 school year.
