Dr. Dean Kelaita Recommends All Calaveras County Schools Close Until April 6th

San Andreas, CA…The safety and wellness of students, families, and school personnel are the highest priorities of all Calaveras County schools and districts. To support widespread community efforts to slow the rate of transmission of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and the potential impact to the community, Calaveras County school officials in coordination with Calaveras Public Health, announce the closure of all schools effective immediately. The schools are tentatively scheduled to reopen Monday, April 6th, 2020. This decision will be finalized after re-evaluation of the situation at that time.

“The school closures is recommended in light of growing evidence to support early action to protect the health of all people living in Calaveras County,” said Dr. Dean Kelaita, Calaveras County Health Officer.
