Road Improvements & Traffic Delays on Six Mile Road

Murphys, CA…Beginning May 18, 2020 and continuing through late June there will be traffic delays on Six Mile Road near Murphys, CA to accommodate roadwork. Crews will be active Monday through Friday during the daylight hours of 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. There will be construction and paving equipment on site as well as reduced traffic lanes. The Six Mile Road Improvements Project is being constructed by T&S West Construction. Six Mile Road will be open to Resident Traffic Only. T&S West Construction will accommodate all essential local traffic, including residents, sanitation trucks, delivery vehicles and emergency vehicles. Motorists and pedestrians are urged to use caution in the area. T&S West and Calaveras County appreciate your cooperation and will do everything we can to complete the project on schedule.

On March 19, 2020, Governor Newsom issued an Executive Order directing all residents to heed current State public health directives to stay home. The Executive Order includes a list of essential critical infrastructure workers. Public Works and construction contractors have been identified as essential services, and critical public works infrastructure projects and programs will continue during the pandemic in accordance with the Executive Order. Public Works strongly supports the need to balance the delivery of essential services with the need for both public and private employers to protect employees from COVID-19. To that end, Public Works continues to collaborate with our construction contractor partners to take all necessary precautions that protect employees and minimize the risk of exposure to COVID-19 to our employees and the community.

Please observe all traffic control signs and instructions of onsite personnel. Contact Calaveras County Public Works Department at (209) 754-6401 if you have any questions regarding this project.
