Murphys & Angels Camp, CA…We just spoke with the Butte Fire PIO to get an update on concerns some viewers have had about flame and smoke output impacting the area. Yes it is the fire you can see but at night things can appear closer than they are. While everyone needs to stay vigilant, aware and ready to go the fire is still a ridge and a drainage away from impacting more populated areas. The fire is at the top of a ridge so it is elevated and can be seen from miles away. Firefighters are actively engaging the fire all along the active fire fronts even in overnight hours.
