COVID-19 Case Count Soars by Eleven in Amador County

Amador County, CA – Since Friday’s COVID-19 update, Amador County Public Health confirms eleven additional COVID-19 cases in Amador County. Of these cases three are hospitalized locally and another is hospitalized out-of-county. Three of the cases reside in Jackson, 4 live in Ione, 2 live in Pioneer, 1 lives in Pine Grove, and another resides in Sutter Creek. The new cases include 7 females and 4 males, 6 age 18-49, 4 age 50-65, and 1 over the age of 65.

Two cases are linked to a congregate setting within a skilled nursing facility. Pre-planned enhanced protocols for a COVID-19 positive within the facility were implemented. These protocols include testing of all patients and staff.

Total cases in Amador to date = 62 cases.
Total hospitalized in Amador County = 3 cases.
Total hospitalized out-of-county = 1 case.
Total active cases = 27 cases.
Total cases released from isolation to date = 35 cases.
Cases are released from isolation when they are no longer infectious.

Individual actions help slow the spread of this disease. Persons over age 65 and those with
chronic health conditions that put them at higher risk for severe COVID-19 should continue
to stay home as much as possible. All should avoid mixing with others outside your
household. Avoid unnecessary travel. When you go out, wear a face covering. Stay home
if you are sick. Stay home if you have symptoms and are awaiting test results.

    If each and every person abided by the rules and stay home just for one week too, there would be no more virus!
