Lake Alpine, CA…As our summer visitors ranks start to thin it is the perfect time to take a visit to our local high country. Temps are still warm and you can actually find parking spots, have a great time and have a picnic or get a meal. This video and photos were taken just before the Nor-Cal fire storms broke out but the air quality is starting to improve. Lake Alpine is at 7,303 feet and at times this COVID summer has been filled to the brim and overflowing with visitors. It has made for challenging operations for local businesses as they went from COVID closures to over capacity literally the next day as soon as they were allowed to resume operations. By most accounts the local businesses have done an admirable job of balancing safety while still trying to provide good service. Not an easy task.
