San Andreas, CA…Extreme fire danger is present throughout the CAL FIRE Tuolumne- Calaveras Unit (TCU) due to prolonged excessive heat that is being experienced throughout the state. In addition to the fires, the state is experiencing PSPS outages which has many people using alternative power sources like generators. Numerous fire incidents are being battled statewide and TCU is reminding you to remain diligent in your efforts to prevent a fire ignition. Some tips to consider are:

– Provide at least 10 feet of bare earth clearance around gas powered equipment.

– Ensure all gas powered equipment has the required Spark Arrestor.

– Understand and adhere to the power generation limitations of your generator and prevent the unit form “overload.”
