Arnold, CA… Arnold SIR (Sons in Retirement), Branch #152, will hold its Monthly Meeting on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Normally, monthly meetings include a social hour and lunch, followed by guest speakers, and are held in the Snowflake Lodge at the Blue Lake Springs Homeowners Association, 335 Blue Lake Springs Dr., Arnold, CA. However, since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, and county-imposed rules on such gatherings, our monthly meetings have been held virtually in the Zoom environment.
Our January guest speakers will be Nate and Bonnie Randall, proprietors of Hinterhaus Distilling in Arnold, CA.
Nate and Bonnie moved to Arnold almost four years ago. Products of Alaska and New Jersey respectively, they met and lived in Seattle for over ten years. Seeking sunshine and work opportunities, they moved to the Bay Area where they lived and raised their son through high school. Nate enjoyed a successful career in Human Resources and Bonnie in the Wine Industry. Two years in the making, Hinterhaus allows Nate and Bonnie to meld their professional skills and passions while being able to gain a deeper level of engagement in the community we all love.
HIN·TER·HAUS (meaning, rear building, house at the back)
Hinterhaus is named in honor of the hinterland at our doorstep – the vast Sierra Nevada wilderness that has long beckoned explorers and adventurers to our neck of the mountain range. Tucked into the back of the Arnold Shopping Plaza, we craft our spirits beneath the long shadows and rustling needles of cedar, sequoia, and pine trees. We distill using fresh mountain water that flows just beyond our doors, and we age and bottle our spirits at our 4000 ft. perch above sea level. We raise a glass to those who carve their own path. Hinterhaus aims to provide locally handcrafted spirits that reflect the natural beauty and unique characteristics of our Sierra Nevada home. In addition to Vodka and Bourbon, Hinterhaus will produce liqueurs, single malt whiskies, gin, and any number of creative limited production spirits.
