Jamestown, CA…The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of an armed robbery which occurred on highway 49 near Chinese Camp. The victim reports that he won $9000 at Chicken Ranch Casino Thursday afternoon. While on his way home to the Groveland area, a brown Chevy pick-up truck passed him on Hwy 49. A short time later the pickup was parked on the side of the highway with its hood up. A white female adult standing next to the pick-up flagged him down.

When the victim pulled over to assist, a white male who was not initially seen, held the victim at gunpoint and demanded his money as the victim sat in his car. The victim denied having money but the suspect knew the victim had won at the casino and repeated his demand the money. The victim gave the male suspect the money. Both suspects got into the pickup and were last seen driving southbound on Hwy 49.

The incident is currently under investigation. Anyone who may have seen the parties on the side of the road, or having information about the suspects are asked to call the
