Murphys Comes Together to Plan for Profitable & Safe Ramp Up

Murphys, CA…Community Meeting held this morning in Murphys. On March 12, 2021, Sheriff DiBasilio attended an open-air meeting with members of the Murphys Business Association (MBA) hosted at the Harlow Winery on Main St. Murphy’s. In a collaborative effort to increase safety in Murphys, District 3 Supervisor Merita Callaway, Calaveras Winegrape Alliance Interim Executive Director Sandra Hess, CHP Lt. Banuelos, and Calaveras County Road Superintendent Scott Anderson also attended the meeting. Some of the topics covered included an overview of law enforcement concerns, business viewpoint, improving service responsibilities, road and traffic conditions (speed mitigation & possible remedies), and bolstering ride-sharing capacities.

An additional meeting will be scheduled in the near future to share dialogue on the progress of projects and to continue improving quality of life issues.
