Caltrans Traffic Advisory One-Way Traffic Control on State Route 88

Amador County, CA… – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will employ one-way traffic control next week at two locations on State Route 88. Crews will continue curb, gutter and sidewalk work from Route 88/Route 49 to Broadway Street from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 2, through Friday, May 7, 2021; and from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 3, through Friday, May 7, 2021. Workers will perform highway construction from Wagon Wheel Drive to Shake Ridge Road from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, May 3, through Friday, May 7, 2021.

Motorists should expect 10-minute delays and take alternate routes whenever possible.

This work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment, and/or materials and construction related issues.

    Cal trans is a group of losers that can’t cut it in the private sector. I have done crane work in the Stockton as well as Sacto Cal trans shops. Those people do next to nothing just like the roadworkers. We need to privatize ALL the roadwork.

    It’s not necessarily the workers it’s the Agency. There isn’t any particular incentive to be cost efficient but I agree, privatize Caltrans and the multi millions in Federaland State taxes.
