San Andreas, CA…On October 26th Ed Lark the long serving head of Calaveras County PATV was honored. The Calaveras County Board of Supervisors wanted to recognize and honor Ed Lark for 20 years of distinguished public service in the Public Access Television Studio!
Ed has had several careers and spent 45 years doing Documentary Films and Travelogues. In the pre cable tv and internet world at times thousands of people would attend each event where Ed Showed his films and discussed his travels around the world.
Another reason Ed Lark should be an example for all of us is that he worked into his 91st year and even now as he is “retiring” he has plans for his next projects. All any of us could wish for is to be able to do good meaningful, useful work for as long as we can. Ed lead the way in spades.
Another reason PATV has been so important for all these years is also for the other media careers it has helped foster. As an example there have been several full length feature films and budding film producing and directing careers that can be traced directly back to time they spent helping and learning from Ed Lark.
When we started ThePineTree.net 16 years ago Ed helped open doors for us and show us the ropes around the county. From 2006 to 2010 or so ThePineTree.net was the only place other than Cable TV you could watch the meetings. Each week we would pick up the DVDs, convert them and get them ready for streaming.
Thank You Ed for your dedication to keeping your community informed for many, many years!!!
