Calaveras Community Foundation Contributes $40,000 To Support CCAR Charities Butte Fire Relief Efforts

Angels Camp, CA…CCAR Charities is pleased to announce that the Calaveras Community Foundation has granted them a second grant this week, in the amount of $40,000, to assist those who suffered damages in the Butte Fire. CCAR Charities is very thankful and grateful for that organization’s on-going support and its faith in the things being accomplished by CCAR Charities. Part of the grant, in the amount of $7,500, was donated to Calaveras Community Foundation by PG&E.

In the last quarter of 2015, from when CCAR Charities first started receiving donations to help fire victims, they received $151,000 in cash donations and have paid for one hundred and twenty 300 gal. water tanks, twenty-one permit fees, eight power poles, four well repairs, thirty-seven 8’ X 8’ storage sheds, three pop up canopies, three refrigerators, and has handed out hundreds of donated quilts , pillow cases and tote bags as well as provided many other items. CCAR Charities also paid $2,221 for credit reports for fire victims searching for a rental, $1,000 toward the free Thanksgiving Dinner put on in Mountain Ranch for the fire survivors and assisted Common Grounds Senior Services with funds when they ran short of emergency shelter funds in the first weeks after the fire. CCAR Charities also purchased $10,575 of gift cards during the early weeks of recovery, that were handed out to fire survivors who needed immediate assistance with paying for daily needs.

In addition, CCAR Charities was able to locate, and give out to fire victims who were living in tents, twenty-eight donated recreational vehicles, all of which were stocked with the needed household goods so the family could use them comfortably.

In 2016, as the Community begins the journey toward rebuilding, the type of assistance provided by CCAR Charities will also change as needed to take care of the different requests that come in. Many of those affected by the fire are only just starting on their journey to recovery and others are already planning their home replacement.
