Murphys Is Getting Ready For Irish Day 2016

Murphys, CA…The Murphys Irish Day organizing committee is at work creating the 2016 celebration that will be held on Saturday, March 19. Murphys Irish Day, one of the Mother Lode’s most popular festivals, is presented each year by the Murphys Business Association with proceeds funding the activities of the association as well as community projects and enhancements.  Once again the responsibility for securing the vendors that line historic Main Street is being undertaken by the Murphys Firefighters Association with Kristin Kovacs being the contact person.

In addition to the regular Murphys merchants, many of which will have booths in front of their establishments, the event will feature some 100 vendors from throughout northern California. These exhibitors must produce their own handcrafted items; no factory-produced items will be accepted. Only original art and photography will be on sale. Other vendors will be selling a variety of foods and beverages.

“Many of our vendors come year after year because Irish Day is so well attended,” says Kovacs. “However we are always looking for new and unique craftsmen who want to sell their wares to our visitors.”

Applications and full instructions can be obtained online at visitmurphys.com or by calling Kovacs at (209) 768-9133. The email address is murphysirishday@gmail.com.

Proceeds from booth rentals are divided between the Murphys Firefighters Association and the Murphys Business Association.
