Hey Good People!! Snowmageddon as Bear Valley May Pickup 36-48 Inches of Snow!

Bear Valley, CA…Hey Good People! Snowmageddon is on its way as we may pick up 36-48” over the next few days and possibly more. So……..Checking out the Goes-West satellite, things have slowed just a tad as the storm system has just started to snow in BV inside the last hour. At 27F currently, snowfall will be a bit more on the dense/heavy side (great for initial bonding of new into old snow) then becoming less dense as colder air arrives and the moisture tap really begins to take off. As the storm has “compressed” somewhat the initial values may come in on the low side but we’ll have to wait and see what the day brings. 19-25″ is still very impressive for a total daytime snowfall so coupled with the increasing winds it is very likely to see those numbers with direct snowfall and certainly we will get there with wind redistribution. The temp will drop down to around 20F by mid-afternoon and and then plummet into the single digits tonight as the system takes hold and allows for even more colder air with another 3-7″ of snow falling before this 1st system exits and the second arrives Saturday.

Snow elevations for these 2 systems looks to drop down to the 3500′ range. A repeat of snow totals for the Saturday/Sunday event looks very promising and possibly a bit more as the model/ensembles continue to agree.

This could be the systems that brings many more resorts on-line and compliment more terrain availability. Can you say deep POW skiing/riding for this weekend……..I can!

Our Mtn Ops and Base Facilities teams are working tirelessly to bring it all together so despite a few hiccups with our new system and its offerings, let em’ know you appreciate all of the hard work they are doing to get us this far.

Peace Out,
Mattly
