Angels Camp, CA…Monica Darlene Heller October 30, 1934 ~ May 30, 2023 (age 88). Monica Darlene Heller passed away on Tuesday, May 30th, 2023, with her family by her side at the age of 88. She was born in Stockton, California on October 30th, 1934. Darlene graduated from Calaveras High School in 1952 and enrolled in Holy Names College in Oakland, California. Following her graduation in 1957 she began her teaching career in Stockton where she taught for a total of 7 and a half years. Upon returning to Calaveras County, she spent five years at San Andreas Elementary and 28 years at Mark Twain Elementary. Darlene loved teaching and helping children learn. She always remembered everyone she taught and their names. She always expressed how much she loved and cared for all of her students, and shared stories of them all the way till the end of her life.

Darlene’s faith in the Catholic Church was very important to her and she loved her Church Family. Darlene was married to her husband Carl Heller for 52 years. He loved and appreciated her and all she did for him. She took wonderful care of him and was a very loving wife.

Darlene is reunited in Heaven with her parents, Tormey and Sally Ward, and her husband, Carl. Darlene was a very caring and loving person and would go out of her way to help anyone that needed it. Darlene also loved her country and will be dearly missed.
