Bear Valley, CA…This year being the 55th anniversary of the festival, we chose Ravi Shankar’s Symphony to return ourselves to the musical pulse of 1968. Shankar’s work is a wonderfully exotic concerto for sitar and orchestra with guest soloist Arjun Verma.
Following a story from India, in the second half, we will tell the story of the New World by performing Dvorak’s Symphony No. 9, his New World Symphony.
At 6pm there will be a pre-concert talk by Arjun Verma about the instrument and the music. Stay tuned for more information!
