Murphys, CA…Utica Water & Power organized a meet and greet with Congressman Tom McClintock today after he toured the Utica System. It was held at the beautiful Old Murphys Powerhouse that has been restored into a stunning residence. This event was attended by various dignitaries in Calaveras County, along with representatives from Senator Alvarado-Gil’s office and Assemblyman Patterson’s office. Utica is seeking the Congressman’s support for grant funding from the federal government (FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant Program) to harden their infrastructure against wildfire and other natural disasters. They are also advocating for his support for federal policies that will decrease the federal regulatory burden on Utica and increase the pace and scale of forest management efforts on federal land.
