San Andreas, CA…On Wednesday, September 20, 2023, the California Highway Patrol San Andreas office will be conducting a Sobriety Checkpoint. The purpose of the checkpoint is to detect and deter drivers impaired by alcohol and/or drugs.
The checkpoint will be staffed by officers of the California Highway Patrol that are trained in the detection of alcohol and/or drug impaired drivers. The officers will also be equipped with handheld breath testing devices which provide an accurate measure of blood alcohol concentration of those suspected of driving while under the influence of alcohol.
Traffic volume permitting, all vehicles, regardless of type, will be checked and drivers who are under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs can be expected to be arrested and booked into the county jail.
The checkpoint will be operated in the San Andreas area from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM.
