Angels Camp, CA…Janie Diane Kirsch of Angels Camp passed away on 11/29/2023, she was 78 years old. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Florence and Henry Strieff and her sister, Julie or Jules as Janie called her. She is survived by her daughters and their spouses Kimberly and Kenny (Mathews), Michelle and Doug (McClintock), Alicia Kirsch and Brad Wolfman. She is also survived by her grandchildren and their spouses Nicole and Jake (DeSoto), Alexandra and Travis (Bartosek), Haley Wagner, Samantha Duncan, Joseph McClintock, Megan and Eric (VanBuren), Madison Wolfman and Dalton Wolfman.

Janie grew up in Battle Creek, MI then moved to Berkeley, CA in the early 1970s where she raised her three daughters. In the early 1980s she started her career and later went back to school where she received her BA degree from Cal State East Bay. She worked for and retired from UC Berkeley, Office of the President as a technical/educational writer.

She loved watercolor painting, arts and crafts, traveling, flowers, music, and her fur babies Max and Buddy.
Janie was an incredible mother and dedicated grandma. She loved her family fiercely and was extremely proud of her daughters and the families they created. She was a rebel, lived life fully and painted a path of beautiful colors. A private celebration of life will be held on a future date.
