Governor Newsom Signs Executive Order Waiving CEQA and Coastal Act Requirements for Reconstruction,

Los Angeles, CA…Governor Gavin Newsom today signed an executive order to suspend permitting and review requirements under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the California Coastal Act to allow victims of the recent fires to restore their homes and businesses faster.

“When the fires are extinguished, victims who have lost their homes and businesses must be able to rebuild quickly and without roadblocks. The executive order I signed today will help cut permitting delays, an important first step in allowing our communities to recover faster and stronger. I’ve also ordered our state agencies to identify additional ways to streamline the rebuilding and recovery process.”

Governor Gavin Newsom

The executive order issued by Governor Newsom will:

  • Suspend CEQA review and California Coastal Act permitting for reconstruction of properties substantially damaged or destroyed in recent Southern California wildfires.
  • Direct state agencies to identify additional permitting requirements, including provisions of the Building Code, that can safely be suspended or streamlined to accelerate rebuilding and make it more affordable.
  • Extend protections against price gouging on building materials, storage services, construction, and other essential goods and services to January 7, 2026, in Los Angeles County.
  • Commit to working with the Legislature to identify statutory changes that can help expedite rebuilding while enhancing wildfire resilience and safety.

Governor Newsom will continue to work administratively and with the Legislature to help those affected by the recent fires rebuild what they have lost.

Why would they? Are you feeling defensive for all of the failures of democrat policies, short comings and failures? Can’t blame you there, it’s one thing after another and another.
From what I’ve been hearing besides the thousands of who not only lost their homes and everything in them many had their insurance company cancel their homeowners so everything will be out of pocket and loans. I couldn’t imagine having to start over after losing everything.
To make matters worse for the Democrat piticians down south getting reamed out by the citizens who live there, reports are coming in Governor Newsom is throwing them under the bus and is even throwing some of his own team under the bus. I guess this might be making his political future in DC bad to the entire nation if it’s true. Again, it’s coming out he’s cut some 100 plus million from the wildfire management.

Everyone is taking notes not just democrats thanks to the world news and President-elect Trump setting the facts straight from Newscum’s lies.
By the way, Democrats in LA area have started a recall of our Governor as Newsom is throwing his own team and other democrat leaders under the bus. I guess Newsom forgot who’s the Governor of CA like Biden keeps forgetting who’s the current President.

I still can’t believe we lost the election. I mean Biden dropped out, we had Kamala Harris, more Democrats voters then repukeicans, and we still lost. We had twice as many Billionaires and multi millionaires backing us, the news media and celebrities standing up for us. We had the Jan 6th committee show us Trump was guilty. We had multiple felony charges brought, hundreds of millions of Dollars levied against Trump thru a legal justice system and we still lost. Almost $1,500,000,000 spent on this election our country a new way forward, to save Democracy, and we still lost. We lost the presidency, the House and the Senate and all the world leaders are congratulating Trump visitingng him at Mar lago. Now news is saying that liberal policies in other countries are losing, that Europe is going to be closely following Trump’s policies, right wing politics is growing stronger everywhere. Look at Canada, liberalism is as dead as a doorknob. Even Obama was laughing and joking with Trump at Carter’s wake, and both said they enjoyed each other’s company and had planned for further discussions in the near future.
No doubt everyone now thinks the horrific wildfires down South is another liberal policy failure by the democrat politicians.
I get it, I get it, all of the wildfires we’ve suffered, our new reservoir we voted for, what, 20 years ago and still nothing. Our Billions of dollars wasted on the top of the line, high tech, Bullet Train. Spending $24,000,000,000 on the homeless and most of it has done zilch, and the rest we have no idea if it’s helped or where the money even went to. The LAFD has a fire chief who a DEI hire, heavy, LGBT lesbian who was asked if she could carry a man out of a burning home, she said no, he was in the wrong place if he expects me to carry him out.
That’s another failure squarely on our party.
Sad isn’t it? These last 4 years have been one set back after another, well maybe I just talked myself out of not believing how we loss.

California Governor Gavin Newsom was confronted on the streets on Thursday by a woman about the lack of water to fight wildfires in Los Angeles as the fires have destroyed homes, businesses, as well as taken at least five lives.

As Newsom was walking towards his SUV, a woman who said she lived in the neighborhood confronted him, asking what he’s going to do to help. “That was my daughter’s school,” she said.

Newsom pointed to his phone, claiming that he was “literally talking with the president right now,” gesturing towards his phone, “to specifically answer the question of what we can do for you and your daughter.”

The woman asked to listen in on the call, saying, “Can I hear your call, cause I don’t believe it.” Newsom said he’s tried “five times” to call, which was why he was “walking around, to try and make the call.”

“Why is the president not taking your call?” the woman asked. Newsom said it was because the call wasn’t going through.

The woman later questioned why there was no water in the fire hydrants and whether things “are going to be different next time.” Newsom said, “It has to be.”

“What are you going to do to fill up the hydrants? I would fill them up personally, you know that,” she said, adding, “but would you do that?” The woman pleaded with Newsom for any answers on what help he’s going to give, but Newsom got into his SUV to leave.

Newsom has come under fire by President-elect Donald Trump, who has blamed the California leader for the wildfires that have burned tens of thousands of acres since Tuesday. Newsom has claimed that Trump is politicizing the disaster by criticizing California’s climate change policies.

The republicans complain about everything that they are not in control of, period.

And the loss – due to ignorant people voting for someone who exhibits mental instability thinking he would by some miracle make prices low again. The economy which was damaged by COVID resulting in supply shortages resulting in higher prices, which will never go down, thus generating higher wages. Total ignorance and we all will pay dearly for that ignorance.

Newsom caught lying and blaming everyone but himself, even throwing g his own team under the bus.

California Governor Gavin Newsom recently attempted to deflect blame for the Los Angeles wildfires currently ravaging the city, shifting blame to local leaders while taking shots at President-elect Donald Trump.
Newsom (D-Calif.) appeared in a Saturday “Pod Save America” podcast episode, there he seemingly placed the blame on local leaders and his own team rather than taking any accountability as governor of California.

“So, I’m the governor of California and wanna know the answer. I’ve got that question, I can’t tell you, by how many people, ‘What happened?’ – on my own team, ‘What happened?’ … I’ll be candid with you, I wasn’t getting straight answers,” Newsom stated.

Co-host Jon Favreau shot back at Newsom, stating that one of his “best friends” whose home was destroyed in the fires implied that Newsom was “just trying to pass the blame” as he’s “ultimately responsible” for the Golden State.

In response, Newsom doubled down on his initial comments while admitting that the response was not up to par.

“We had my team start talking to local leaders, saying, ‘What’s going on?’” Newsom continued. “I was getting different answers.”

“And so, for me, that’s not a – when you start getting different answers, then I’m not getting the actual story,” he added.

Newsom’s comments come as Los Angeles residents have slammed the state’s liberal leaders for their lackluster response and preventative measures.

Newsom has also been criticized for previously slashing funding for wildfire and forest resilience by $101 million in 2024, according to Newsweek.

Before this “SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — California Gov. Gavin Newsom has vastly overstated wildfire prevention work completed by his administration, according to a Capital Public Radio investigation released Wednesday.

State fire officials have treated less than 18 of the 140 square miles that the Democratic governor has touted, the radio station reported. The land is part of 35 priority projects Newsom designated in 2019 on the heels of the deadliest wildfire season in state history.

In 2020, California’s fuel reduction efforts also dropped from the year before, and Newsom cut the fire prevention budget by $150 million, CapRadio reported.
