San Andreas, CA…As winter illness season peaks, the convergence of COVID-19, RSV, influenza, and norovirus has created what many are calling a “quad-demic.” These overlapping viral threats are straining communities, healthcare systems, and workplaces nationwide.

Recent data highlights the growing impact:

Influenza activity remains high, according to the California Department of Public Health. RSV activity is moderate. COVID-19 activity is low at this time.

The CDC reported 91 suspected or confirmed norovirus outbreaks during the week of December 5—more than any other week in 2024 and significantly higher than the same period in prior year and double from the same time period the year before.
