Arnold, CA…Fine cider makers, Posterity Ciderworks, open their second tasting room offering premium natural ciders, meads and co-ferments. Husband and Wife team Brendan and Kris Barnard plan to open the doors, located at 1771 Hwy 4, suite F, Arnold CA this weekend, January 24th and 25th, 2026 from 12:00-6pm.
The cidery is known for their work reclaiming abandoned historic orchards throughout Gold Country and featuring the fruit in elegant ciders that highlight the terroir of the Sierra Foothills. The pair have also revived an even older beverage category with their unique meads, employing local honey and foraged ingredients. All of their ciders are fermented to dryness and have no added sulfites, clarifiers, artificial colors or flavors. In the almost 4 years since opening, Posterity Ciderworks has graced many fine dining menus as a featured beverage pairing in restaurants like Saison, Atelier Crenn, Petite Crenn, Sons and Daughters, Anomaly SF and Localis.
The move to Arnold is an important bridge between their Bay Area and Sacramento customer bases. According to https://staystra.com/location/california/arnold/, Arnold, CA has a population of 3,300 but sees an average of 250,000 visitors annually with multi-season draws including Calaveras Big Trees State Park, White Pines Lake and neighboring Bear Valley Ski Resort.
“We’ve heard from our customers that our manufacturing space and first tasting room in Mokelumne Hill were often treated as a mid-trip detour on the way to Arnold. When searching for towns for our second tasting room, it was a natural choice to look in Arnold” Kris Barnard, co-owner and founder said. “We’re delighted to be in Arnold, to showcase the wild and foraged fruit of our county inside our unique libations. We believe cider belongs with gourmet meals, and we’ve sought out and restored historic orchards throughout the Sierras to help us make that point” stated Brendan Barnard, head orchardist and cider maker.
The new tasting room features a rotating selection of on-draft pours, bottles and cans to-go, and tasting flights. “Everything we make is small batch, and our mission is to push the expectations our guests have for ciders and meads. Our tasting experience is designed to be in-depth and personal. We want to share the stories of each offering while you’re tasting it”
The Arnold tasting room is open Thursday-Sunday, 12-6pm. Walk-ins are welcome, reservations can be made online or over the phone via text or call.
