Copperopolis, CA….(Updated…Fire held to about 5 acres and fire was north of Hwy 4 on Milton Road. Good work firefighters!!) CHP is reporting a grass fire near Hwy 4 & Milton Road. It’s just another indicator the fire season is fully underway. You can always tell when we get our first 100-200 acre grass fire at lower elevations. Typically these don’t cause too much damage and can give everyone some training. They spread quickly and need quick action to keep them from getting to something vital. For the most part they just tend to paint the ground black instead of tan.
