Murphys, CA…A Murphys man was operating his Harley Davidson westbound on Hwy 4 at an unknown speed, approaching Hunter Dam Road. As he was negotiating a curve to his right, he allowed his Harley to drived left across the solid yellow lines, across the eastbound lane and off the south side of Hwy 4 where he collided with a tree. He then tumbled down an embankment and came to rest in a dirt gutter along Hunter Dam Road below Hwy 4.

A passing motorist found him and provided him with a ride to the El Jardin Restaurant in Murphys were medical help was summoned for him. Alcohol and drug impairment may have contributed to the collision and he may face criminal charges for driving under the influence.

He suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Mark Twain Medical Center
