Mountain Ranch, CA…Mountain Ranch Needs and Volunteers is holding a water donation drive from August 7 – August 14. We are collecting drinkable flats/cases/gallons of water for the survivors in the Butte Fire Burn Zone. The Butte Fire started on September 9, 2015. It quickly grew to be the 7th most destructive wildfire in California history. It swept through over 70,000 acres and destroyed more than 500 homes. The town of Mountain Ranch was nearly wiped completely off the map. Many are still struggling to recover
Many families that are still living on their burned out properties do not have access to safe drinking water for a variety of reasons. Most of these instances are not within the individual’s control. These people and families have to ration their water, travel miles to pick up donations of it, that some are still embarrassed to do. Some also cannot bring themselves to ask for help, even at this stage.
Fifteen businesses throughout Sacramento and Calaveras County have opened their doors to be drop off location during the week of August 7 to August 14. In addition to these locations, Sacred City Derby Girls will be holding a collection at their double header bout on August 13 in Sacramento.
